Gippsland Lakes boating survey
Input needed from boaters for the Gippsland Lakes Sustainable Boating PlanThe Gippsland Lakes is a boating paradise attracting growing numbers of boating enthusiasts who enjoy cruising, sailing and paddling on the beautiful and relatively safe waterways.
But the Lakes also have high environmental importance and accommodate a range of activities that are potentially hazardous to the environment and public safety.
Gippsland Ports is undertaking a "Sustainable Boating Plan" which will assist in accommodating growth in boating activity, while ensuring that the environment of the Lakes is protected and the community can continue to enjoy safe, responsible boating into the future.
Input from the boating and non-boating community is an important part of the project. It will help us to understand the patterns of boat use on the Lakes and what your views are on boating facilities, hazards, and improvements to boating.
What do you think about boating on the Gippsland Lakes? A survey has been prepared to gather community views about boating. Survey respondents can enter the draw to win a lifejacket.
