This weekend’s Gippsland Lakes Boating and Recreational Lifestyle Expo is a big community celebration for lovers of all things boating.
To be held on the Paynesville Motor Cruiser Club lawns across the entire weekend, the expo will include displays and sales of trailerable boats, marine accessories, canoes, kayaks and fishing equipment.
There will be both static and on-water exhibitions of new boats, as well as rafts of caravans, motor homes and camping trailers.
Marine exhibitors include R Marine Jacksons/Webster Marine, Ashworth Maritime, Beacon Boat Sales, Dockpro Dry Docking, Alpine Country Kayaks, Dockside Boat Sales, Gippsland Ports, Bulls Cruisers & Captains Cove, Boating Industry Assoc of Victoria, Inverloch Marine, Luxford Marine Solutions, and Paynesville Marine Electronics.
Then there is Club Marine, Frecheville Heaney Boats, Chaparral Boats, Crawford Marine, Whittley Boats, Bairnsdale Batteries, Phillip Island Marine, Collins Marine and Ski Force Australia.
In addition, Hood Sailmakers Gippsland Lakes, White Pointer Marine, Coast Guard, Regal Marine, Bairnsdale Swim and Ski, Ivan Bubb Model Boats, Gippsland Boat Supplies, Metung Boating and Hardware and All Power Marine – Honda, Seawind Cats and more are exhibiting.
Of course, fetching classic timber cruisers and yachts are well represented with most local manufacturers, repairers, and devoted wooden boaties proudly in attendance.
The expo runs from Saturday April 14 to Sunday April 15 from 9am to 5pm each day. The Paynesville Motor Cruiser Club is located on Slip Bight Marine, Slip Rd, Paynesville.
At the same time, some of the best race boats in Australia will arrive from South Australia, New South Wales, Queensland and Tasmania to compete in the legendary Paynesville Cup over the weekend.
Thirty-three races including heats, semis and finals can be expected over one massive day ranging from the awesome Open Unlimited to the young racer’s Future Cup.
