Queensland-based Snaptraxx has launched a solution that helps bunk trailer owners minimise damage to their hulls caused by repeatedly dragging the boat over carpet-lined runners.
The Snaptraxx system uses a mixture of grippy runners at the back of the trailer that holds the boat in place while in transit, and slippery runners at the front that allow the boat to easily run off the trailer once the back of the boat starts to float.
The Snaptraxx system is an ideal replacement for carpets that can fade and deteriorate over time, and also catch sand and dirt kicked up by prop wash that can wear away at the boat’s hull over time.
Snaptraxx says the benefits of its system include reduced scratching and easier loading and unloading compared with carpet-lined runners.
“Snaptraxx is resilient to wear and tear and will far outlast any carpeted bunk system,” the company claims.
“Carpeted bunks stay wet against your hull for a long amount of time which can eventually result in rotten timbers, whereas Snaptraxx dries and drains quickly and efficiently.”
The Snaptraxx bunks have a smooth surface and are lined with drainage channels that allow water and grit to wash away.
According to Snaptraxx, the system will fit any boat trailer currently set up with a bunk system.
The runners are also suited to work with most fibreglass and aluminium-hulled boats including wake, ski, fishing and pleasure boats.
Snaptraxx is brought into Australia via Gold Coast and Sydney-based Nautique Central.
