Raymarine has rolled out a free update to its Lighthouse 3 app that makes the system much more attractive to sailors and people operating their boats at night.
The Bermuda v3.10 update adds several yacht racing features including a race timer, start line plotter, a racing data dashboard and more polars that help a boat optimise its sail trim settings.
The 60 extra sail plans lift the number of hulls in the polar database to more than 260, Raymarine said.

Meanwhile, the AR200 augmented reality stabilisation system for the FLIR M132 and M232 cameras is also enhanced, improving night vision, while owners of other systems will now have extended settings support for their units.
The enhancements to the augmented reality system means the cameras will be better at smoothing out the effects of pitch and roll while the boat is underway, resulting in a much clearer image for the operator.
The software update also adds support to synchronise with Fishidy, a US-specific social fishing app that links up with a Raymarine Axiom multifunction display screen. The app is not available in Australia.
Other enhancements include access to the Buoyweather app that provides up to a 14-day forecast, and controls for Shadow-Caster LED lighting that allows the Axiom interface to change light colours, intensity, music synchronisation and more across a boat, including under the water.
The operating system will also now display PDF documents, meaning owners can load all their electronic manuals onto the system for later reference.
The latest LightHouse 3 Bermuda v3.10 operating system is now available for eS and gS series multifunction displays, as well as Axiom, Axiom Pro and Axiom XL models.
