The Raymarine VHF radio range has expanded with a new series of units with digital selective calling and built-in GPS receivers as standard.
The Raymarine Ray53, Ray63 and Ray73 radios all come with DSC support. The Ray63 and Ray73 both add wireless handset support for up to two extra stations via the Raymarine wireless VHF hub, while the Ray73 also adds an Automatic Identification System that will flag your boat’s position and heading to other craft fitteds with AIS systems.
Raymarine said each model was equipped with a built-in GPS receiver and connection point for an optional GPS/GNSS antenna, which improved GPS reception when the radio was mounted below deck or in an enclosed pilothouse.
“Designed to complement the modern style of Raymarine Axiom multifunction displays, these new VHF radios look great trunnion or surface mounted on any helm,” it said.
The Ray53, priced from $699, includes NMEA2000 and legacy NMEA0183 networking, which enables it to connect with other onboard electronics. The Ray53 also supports a remote speaker.
The Ray63 is built ona full-size radio chassis and features oversized controls and a larger LCD screen. It also supports multi-station expansion, and intercom capability via a wired RayMic controller, or two wireless RayMic controllers. It is priced from $799.
The Raymarine Ray73 multifunction VHF radio adds a built-in AIS receiver and support for a loudhailer that includes automatic fog signals. It is priced from $1199.
The new Raymarine VHF line is available now through FLIR’s network of Raymarine dealers and retailers.
The smaller radios follow on from the recent launch of the Raymarine Ray90 and Ray91 commercial grade modular VHF transceivers that also include wireless support for up to two handsets.
