The next-generation Raymarine Element HV boat GPS/sonar unit has arrived, promising owners the “clearest and most complete views” of the world beneath the water.
The Raymarine Element HV is available in three sizes, starting from $1149 for the 7.0-inch version, including a transducer. The unit will also come in 9.0-inch and 12.0-inch versions.
The Raymarine Element HV has been updated to include seven different channels scanning the water, including three ultra-high 1.2MHz frequencies used in Raymarine’s HyperVision system to deliver sideways and downward channels to help build the RealVision 3D map of the underwater landscape.
Raymarine says RealVision 3D “combines with precision GPS to construct the most accurate 3D model of the underwater world – including fish, bait and structure – and updates it in real-time”.
All Element HV systems use quad-core processors to help with updating the underwater view in real time, and to scroll through menus without any shuddering or lag.
Raymarine says the Element HV's chartplotting supports charts from mapmakers Navionics and C-Map, and also makes it easier for anglers to create maps of uncharted waters via Navionics SonarChart Live and Raymarine RealBathy personal sonar map recording.
You’ll be able to see the screen in strong sunlight, too, as the Element HV features an ultra-bright 1500 nit screen that works even with polarised sunglasses.
Raymarine has used its fishing-centric LightHouse Sport operating system to run the Element HV, which includes NMEA2000 connectivity to display information on engines, instruments, tank level senders and autopilot.
“Network two Elements together for convenient waypoint sharing. Element even connects with Raymarine’s wireless Quantum radar scanners for anglers fishing big waters,” it says.
All three units come with what Raymarine says is a best-in-class three-year warranty.
