Dockmate has launched a new function for its remote control thruster system that allows skippers to push up against and hold fast against a dock.
ThrusterHold lets skippers engage a boat’s thrusters to port or starboard to hold the boat fast against a jetty, pier or even another boat.
The new feature makes it much easier for skippers to step off the boat and tie it up.
Dockmate’s system is unique in that it is the first one that allows skippers to set the function using a remote control.

The new ThrusterHold function is available on Dockmate systems fitted with the Single, Twin and Twist handheld remotes, and is compatible with CAN bus-controlled proportional thrusters from brands including Sleipner S-Link, VETUS V-CAN, ABT-TRAC Link and CMC-CANopen.
The ThrusterHold function will be rolled out to more third-party CAN bus thruster control systems.
Dockmate president Dirk Illegems said the company had brought another innovative solution to its customers that would make their yachting experience even better.
“Our team has worked tirelessly to ensure that this feature is not only compatible with our currently supported systems, but that it will also work with other CAN bus thruster controls in the future,” Illegems said.
