Clarion has released a new marine-grade multimedia head unit that it says is small enough to mount on a jet ski, but powerful enough to split a boat up into separate audio zones.
The Clarion CMM-10’s facia measures 11.0cm by 6.3cm, but the unit will flush-mount into a rectangle that is just 7.2cm by 4.6cm, making it ideal for smaller vessels and even jet skis.
The unit, rated to the IP66 weatherproofing standard, is able to stream media, AM and FM radio and locally stored content.
According to Clarion, the CMM-10 includes a global AM/FM tuner and multiple connections for personal devices, including Bluetooth streaming from smartphones and USB for playback from flash drives and portable solid-state drives.

The USB port can also recharge smartphones and other USB-chargeable accessories.
Clarion says the CMM-10’s control panel features easy-to-push physical buttons, a large rotary volume knob and an easy-to-read, high-brightness, 2.09-inch LCD display with dimmable illumination control for nighttime viewing.
A built-in 80-watt amplifier can feed audio to two separate audio zones – say the console and the transom – or to one audio zone and a sub-woofer.
“Utilising UV-treated, durable, marine-rated materials, CMM-series source units, including the new CMM-10, are built to endure years of use in harsh marine environments,” Clarion says.
“All models are Salt & Sun Certified and are thus built to exceed industry standards for salt-fog/UV exposure and shock/vibration resistance, ensuring excellent long-term durability.”
