Anglers whose lives evolve around the fight to land monster tuna and to tag record billfish such as marlin have been targeted by Evolution boats with its latest 600 Extreme Gamefisher.
The new model, which has built up a healthy orderbook since it was launched at the Melbourne Boat Show earlier this year, has a side door moulded into the hull for the safe landing of really big fish.
Evolution Boats director Paul Junginger told the Boatsales Network the 600 Extreme Gamefisher really lived up to the company's theme of building hardcore fishing boats for hardcore anglers -- the bluewater boys who are out for tuna, marlin and other larger species.
"We knew there was a market for a variant in the 600 range for a vessel designed specifically to land those bigger fish," Junginger says.
"With the Gamefisher we offer the convenience of a side door along with all the usual Evolution Boats hallmarks of strong construction, exceptional room and a hull that is both stable at rest and quick onto the plane."
The 600 Extreme range has an overall length of 6.5 metres, a beam of 2.49 metres and a hull deadrise of 21 degrees. It is designed to take outboards from 150 to 250 hp or to take twin outboards if desired.
Junginger says there is room aboard for six to fish in comfort.
With a total weight of boat, engine and trailer of about 2250kg, the 600 extreme can be towed by a mid-sized four-wheel-drive vehicle.
