Full throttle for Riviera

32 new boats currently under construction

Riviera is powering forward into summer with 32 new boats with a retail value of $50 million currently under construction and all scheduled for pre-Christmas completion and delivery.

The 32 boats are destined for owners around Australia and around the world including Dubai, Seattle, New Zealand, Wisconsin, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and Russia.

Riviera’s chief operating officer Paul Lyons said production staff were on track to complete the full compliment of boats before Christmas.

"To help us achieve this significant objective we have implemented a number of new production strategies," Paul said.

"One of the new initiatives which is working extremely well is our Employee Consultative Committee, which is made up of a selection of employees from all areas of the business who were nominated by their peers to meet regularly with senior management to discuss issues within the business and solutions to improve efficiencies and further enhance quality.

"We are certainly encouraged with Riviera’s success at recent boat shows including the Auckland International Boat Show, Cannes International Boat Show in France, the Durban Boat Show in South Africa and the Genoa Boat Show in Italy.

"Our current forward order bank is a direct result of the growing international demand for Riviera’s luxury boats with 41 per cent of our pre-Christmas retail orders coming from our international dealer network.

Riviera’s director of brand and communications Stephen Milne said there was growing international demand for Riviera’s luxury cruisers.

"The fact that Riviera currently has 32 boats under construction for pre-Christmas completion and delivery is testament to the company’s state-of-the-art technology, design and innovation as well as our world renowned quality," Stephen said.

"Riviera looks forward to 2012 and the continued growth of our export sales," he added.

In Riviera’s 30 year history, the company has produced more than 4,800 boats, 60 different models and currently employs more than 400 staff at its 14-hectare facility in Coomera, Queensland.
