Quintrex claims to have redefined cruising with its new range of Freedom Cruisers.
For the first time, the company has incorporated the engine into the stern of one of their boats, creating Quintrex’s most luxurious models, the 540 and 580 Freedom Cruisers.
The newest additions to the Freedom sport range, the Freedom Cruiser models sleek lines, plenty of space and plush interior for pleasure-filled cruising.
At the official launch of the new models at the Melbourne Boat Show, Quintrex national sales and marketing manager Damian Duncan said the Freedom Cruiser range had undergone significant changes at the transom.
“The 540 and 580 Freedom Cruisers mark a groundbreaking step for Quintrex and medium sized aluminium boats in Australia,” Duncan said.
“It demonstrates the flexibility, adaptability and capability of our research and development team in meeting customer and dealer demands.
“Quintrex’s famous Maxi 2 Transom has been transformed into a large rear boarding platform and the engine is effectively housed inside the hull, delivering an exceptionally quiet ride.
“The transformation makes way for a luxurious sunlounge and a boarding platform, perfect for fitting skis, launching wakeboards, fishing or just sitting and enjoying the view.
“We’ve also added a new sports steering wheel, passenger and driver bucket seats and introduced more space to the boat.
“The 540 and 580 Freedom Cruisers allow Quintrex to infiltrate new markets, providing an opportunity to showcase the Millennium Hull and Flared Bow combination.
“In 2004, the Australian market sold 1800 imported glass sterndrives and in 2005, 3000 were sold. The complete boat, motor, trailer package makes competitive pricing possible with the added versatility of being aluminium.”
Powered by MerCruiser engines, the 540 boasts a 3lt, 135hp sterndrive, while the 580 features a gutsy 4.3lt, 190hp sterndrive.
Operated by a concealed side panel-mounted control unit, the Freedom Cruiser comes standard with easy Turn Key Starting technology and the anti-feedback power steering makes handling a breeze.
The 540 Freedom Cruiser can carry up to seven passengers and measures 6.3m overall, while the 580 measures 6.55m and can carry eight people.
Both models boast 4mm bottomsides and 2mm topsides and measure 2.38m across the beam.
Standard features include multifunction side panels, deluxe seating, dashboard and glovebox, carpeted floor, rear alloy telescopic ladder, a central ski hook and two underfloor and two engine bay storage compartments, to name just a few.
