Long-serving Australian boatbuilder Steber is continuing its tradition of supplying commercial vessels to new export markets — work has begun on the fourth Steber for an upmarket resort in the Seychelles more than 10,000km from its Taree yard.
Steber says it's now busy building a new 52 footer due for shipping and delivery to the Fregate Island Resort in the Seychelles archipelago later in 2017.
The Steber 5200 (52ft) will be used for a variety of resort activities covering extended excursions, game fishing and diving in this picturesque Indian Ocean locale.
Besides a signature sprawling aft deck, the new 5200 features twin sleeping cabins, two bathrooms, twin lounge areas, fully equipped galley, inflatable dinghy and davit, and additional on-deck seating for staging scenic tours.
The 5200 will join the fleet of three other Stebers currently in service at the Seychelles resort, the first of which was delivered back in 1999.
Late last year, the Fregate Island resort took delivery of a Steber 3800 (38ft) to transfer clients between the island and mainland.
Unlike any other Steber, the hulls of the Fregate Island fleet vessels are finished in a unique Jade Mist Green colour.
The Seychelles archipelago is located in the Indian Ocean, north East of Madagascar, about 1600km east of Kenya.
The archipelago consists of 115 islands and soon a four-strong fleet of Australian-made Steber boats.
