FORT LAUDERDALE BOAT SHOW: The largest in-water boat show in the world

FLIBS 2017 opens with a strong contingency of luxury Australian motoryachts and marine exhibitors

The doors have opened today (November 1, 2017) for the 58th annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS), a four-day boating extravaganza where the top end of town and luxury 'yachting' as they call it here is very much on show.

The world’s largest in-water boat show covers seven locations with nearly 1500 boats displayed across more than 3 million square feet of exhibition space.?? Everything from tenders to centre console sportfishers and pleasure boats of all sizes is on display.

FLIBS draws more than 1000 exhibitors from more than 30 countries, including a strong contingency of Australian boatbuilders, dealers and enthusiasts. As ever, there is a strong presence of marine products from the Gold Coast.

Riviera will proudly present an eight-yacht display at the Show including the 6000, 5400 and 4800 Sport Yachts,  the  575 and 445 SUV models,  as well as the 45 and 43 Open Flybridge models, plus the classically styled Belize 54 Daybridge.

Riviera Chairman and owner Rodney Longhurst said Fort Lauderdale holds a special place in Riviera’s heart each year.

"It is with great pride that we present a range of distinctive and luxurious designs that cater to the wide range of today’s motor-yachting pursuits and cruising aspirations," Longhurst said.

Maritimo will showcase its M51, M54 and M59, as well as run renderings of its X60 sport yacht with beach club in front of prospective customers.

Meantime, the Superyacht Group Great Barrier Reef will promote Cairns as the perfect home port for visitors aiming to explore and base themselves in Queensland, Australia.

Gold Coast City Marina will also be present at the show,  along with their close neighbour Southport Yacht Club, which has been appointed a Boarding Station for the purposes of customs, biosecurity and migration acts for international arrivals and departures.

Other key Australian Companies present include Abell Point Marina, Aurora Global Logistics, Aqualuma LED Lighting, Bellingham Marine, Maritimo, Maxwell Windlasses, Muir Engineering, Seaway Logistics and Sorgiovanni Designs.
