Established in 1998, Brisbane-based Formosa Marine is expanding its aluminium-boat range up the line with new Classic MK4 and SEA-ROD Deluxe V2 Hull ranges.
The manufacturer of the popular Classic and Tomahawk aluminium-plate boats is offering the Classic MK4 and SEA-ROD V2 hulls as 520, 550 and 580 models.
While we have the inside running on this news, the new boats will be officially revealed at this year’s Brisbane Boat Show (RNA Showgrounds September 11-14).
Formosa says the big change with the new models is "a focus on stronger and sleeker."
The new boats are said to maintain the great performance, key design and strength attributes of the range — with 4mm bottoms with longitudinal stringers, marine-grade floors and 32mm hand rails, for example — but Formosa has included some enhancements such as:
<< 4mm sides as standard in 520, 550 and 580 models.
<< Pillar-post side ribs – allows for cables and hosing to be neatly run out of view.
<< No side sheet pressing – sleeker look.
<< Reinforced transom – upgrade in maximum horsepower rating.
<< New internal fittings
The existing 430, 455, 480 and 500 models will still be available as a MK3 and V1 Deluxe hull. But the new MK4 and SEA-ROD V2 boats expand the range of offerings up the range into bigger open-water, inshore and offshore plate-alloy fishing rigs.
