The 2026 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show delivered its usual mix of luxury cruisers, offshore weapons and cutting-edge marine technology, with more than 800 boats on display across the Gold Coast venue.
While it's easy to get distracted by the multi-million-dollar yachts lining the marina, there were also plenty of attainable boats on show for buyers shopping in the sub-$150,000 bracket.
After spending the opening day walking the docks and inspecting new releases, we've narrowed the field down to five standout boats we'd happily take home ourselves. From hardcore offshore fishing rigs to versatile family-friendly platforms, these are our picks from SCIBS 2026.

If offshore fishing is your priority, the Bar Crusher 670HT is difficult to overlook. Purpose-built for Australian conditions, the hard-top aluminium rig has earned a reputation as one of the toughest trailer boats in its class.
Featuring a large fishing cockpit, toughened glass windscreen, sliding side windows and Bar Crusher's clever Bar Catch trailer system, the 670HT is designed with practicality in mind. Rated for up to 200hp and capable of carrying six people, it's a no-nonsense fishing platform aimed squarely at serious anglers.

Quintrex's Trident range has become increasingly popular with offshore anglers, and the 610 showcased at Sanctuary Cove highlighted why.
Powered by the brand's Millennium Blade Hull design, the Trident 610 promises improved ride comfort and rough-water capability compared with more traditional aluminium hulls. A 5mm plate bottom, generous deck space, high sides and a maximum seven-person capacity make it well suited to offshore fishing duties.
Priced from around $119,000 as displayed, the Trident offers a compelling mix of durability, practicality and offshore performance.

The recently released Surtees 620 Game Fisher stood out as one of the more refined fishing boats in this price category.
A key feature is Surtees' well-known stability ballast system, which automatically fills with water at rest to improve stability when drifting, fishing or moving around the boat. Combined with a modern hull design, premium cabin fit-out and practical fishing features, the 620 Game Fisher bridges the gap between dedicated fishing machine and family-friendly weekender.
With a 200-litre fuel capacity and a maximum power rating of 150hp, it offers plenty of capability for extended offshore adventures.

For buyers seeking versatility, the Tidewater 2100 Adventure centre console presents an interesting proposition.
At $149,990 as displayed, it squeezes under our budget cap while offering a combination of offshore fishing capability and family comfort. The spacious bow seating, removable cushions, wide walkways and large cockpit create a flexible layout that can quickly transition from family cruising to serious fishing.
Features such as Garmin electronics, JL Audio entertainment, hydraulic steering, a fibreglass T-top, livewell and fold-away rear seating add to the package, while the Mercury 200hp outboard provides strong performance.

Perhaps the most unconventional choice on the list, the Highfield Sport 660 brings a different flavour to the under-$150K category.
The rigid inflatable boat (RIB) design delivers excellent stability, low weight and impressive versatility. Finished with a premium fit-out that includes lounge seating, a sundeck, swim platform and shower kit, the Sport 660 is aimed more at recreation than hardcore fishing.
Capable of carrying up to 13 passengers and powered by up to 200hp, it's a compelling option for families interested in watersports, island hopping, diving or entertaining on the water.

While each of these boats targets a slightly different buyer, they all demonstrate that you don't need to spend superyacht money to find a capable and well-equipped boat at Sanctuary Cove.
Whether you're chasing fish offshore, exploring the coastline with family or looking for an all-round adventure platform, there was no shortage of choice under the $150,000 mark at SCIBS 2026.
