Fishing Tackle: New Rovex Revenge spin reels

The new Rovex Revenge spin reel range comprises six sizes from the small 1000 for light saltwater and freshwater, up to the big 8000 for inshore tactics, with the 2000 to 6000 sizes covering myriad options in between.

This all-new build features a graphite body and rotor to keep weight to a minimum. The internal design runs a five ball-bearing system plus an anti-reverse bearing, and a durable stainless steel main shaft.

Other features include: a machined alloy handle finished with a big soft-touch grip for control and comfort; machined aluminium long-cast spool for extra distance; thick tubular bail wire; and a line roller designed to minimise line twist.

Line capacities range from 213yd of 4lb (about 200m of 2kg) mono in size 1000, to 185yd (about 160m of 6kg) of 12lb mono in the middle 4000 size, and the 8000 Revenge holds 360yd of 20lb (about 320m of 10kg) mono.

Size 1000 and 2000 have a 5.5:1 gear ratio; the 3000, 4000 and 6000 reels have 5.2:1 gearing; and the 8000 cranks with plenty of torque at 4.1:1.
