Three Finnish powerboat brands will make their Aussie debut at the Sydney International Boat Show this week. New additions to the Chapman Marine Group’s stable; Flipper, Falcon and Bella are among Scandinavia’s top boat brands and are part-owned by the giant Brunswick Corporation.
Bella-Veneet is the parent brand and was founded in 1970 in Kuopio, Finland. Brunswick Corporation acquired a 30% stake in the company in 2003. Bella-Veneet brands include Bella, Flipper and Falcon.
Now, says Chapman Marine Group, Bella has more than 100 dealers and partners across northern Europe alone, with “many more” throughout Russia, Asia and Middle Eastern countries.
The Bella brand offers a wide range of outboard-powered fibreglass craft from 5-7m. The line-up includes a range of styles from open centre-console craft through to cabin cruisers. Bella’s 620 C cabin cruiser won its category (under 25 feet) in this year’s (2018) European Powerboat of the Year.
Flipper offers Sport Console, Sport Top and Day Cruiser models from 6-9m (approx.) – also all fibreglass outboard powered. Flipper claims to have created the Sport Top genre, one of which will be on display in Sydney.
Falcon is a rarity in our marketplace – an imported aluminium boat. The Falcon range of walk-thru runabout-style outboard craft spans 5-7m and features 5083 plate aluminium hulls with stylish moulded fibreglass topsides.
The result is “versatile, classy and durable,” says Chapman Marine Group.
In addition to the Bella range of craft, Chapman Marine Group will also display a range of Sea-Ray models in Sydney.
A stalwart for the iconic US powerboat brand Down Under, the group claims this year’s show stand will boast the largest range of Sea Ray seen in Australia in the last 10 years.
Five brand new models will debut. These are the 250 SDX outboard and sterndrive models, the new 230 SPX, SLX 310, 270 SDX outboard-powered craft and the 290 SDX Sundeck.
The Sydney International Boat Show opens Thursday (Aug 2) at Sydney International Convention Centre and the David Lockwood Marina at Cockle Bay, Darling Harbour.
