The Marina di Cattolica served as the charming background for the launch of the new Ferretti 870, the latest in the Ferretti Yachts fleet. Over the next few weeks the new model will undergo all necessary technical checks -- RINA tests, sea trials, the verification of systems and appliances, and onboard furnishings will be completed. The yacht will then be delivered to its European owner.
The Ferretti 870 will be presented as a world premiere at Cannes Boat Show (September 11-16). The stunning new motor yacht was built entirely in the Group’s Cattolica production facility. With its considerable size -- an overall length of 26.5 metres, a six-metre beam, and a full-load displacement of 80 tons, the 870 model further extends Ferretti Yachts’ big-boat fleet.
While preserving some features of its predecessor, the Ferretti 830, the new Ferretti 870 is characterised by a series of innovative solutions employed on some of the brand’s more recent models: the bronze dome over the bridge, also found on the Ferretti 800, highlights the craft’s sporty look, while the glazing on the main deck results in slender lines and a bright interior.
Ferretti says that spacious areas go hand in hand with great performance on this yacht. The 870 is powered by a pair of MTU 12V 2000 M94 (1948hp) engines and during the first medium-load trials the yacht reached a maximum speed of 32 knots.
