Ferretti launches Custom Line Navetta 28

New model in the brand’s semi-displacement line features a floodable garage and unique transom forming a huge ‘beach’ area

Ferretti has announced the official debut of the Ferretti Custom Line Navetta 28 at the forthcoming Cannes Yachting Festival for the

The new model inherits several innovative ideas from her ‘sister', the line's flagship Navetta 33 Crescendo, and features many quite interesting elements includeing the the Dual Mode Transom system, a Ferretti Group patent that completely redesigns the aft outer area.

Introducing the new model, Alberto Galassi, Ferretti Group's CEO said this was: "A new chapter in the Ferretti Custom Line's adventure – a new extraordinary yacht that we are proud to present this year in Cannes".

The Ferretti Custom Line Navetta 28 features an innovative aft outdoor area that Ferretti says will become a trend-setter in the maxi yacht sector thanks to its Dual Mode Transom (DMT).

The DMT combines a floodable garage, a bathing platform, and a ‘beach club' bigger than that on any other boats of similar size.

This revolutionary electro-hydraulic system allows the transom to open both upwards and downwards,
maximising the use of the area.

When the hatch is opened upwards, access is gained to the wide floodable garage, which can store a jet tender up to 4.45 meters long. The tender can be easily launched or docked without using a davit, but simply lowering the central part of the platform into the water, so that the tender can float in or out of the garage.

The central submersible platform can also become a swim platform, and can also be used as a lift for water toys and other equipment.

When the hatch is opened downwards – even with the tender inside the garage – it forms a ‘beach' of around 9sqm. For a bit more comfort, the inside wall of the hatch has been lined in teak. A second teak sliding platform fitted to the ceiling of the garage can also be lowered to the level of the door to cover a large part of the garage, further extending the beach area by around six metres, making a total area of almost 15sqm.

The cockpit also features a multi-function sunbathing area including three pads with adjustable backrest that allow it to be used in several different ways.

Owners have the opportunity of  customising the yacht's interior but the first boat features four staterooms, three of which are double cabins and one is fitted with twin beds; all have ensuite heads and separate showers.

Ferretti says that the new maxi yacht also stands out for its performance. It's fitted with two MAN V8 1200hp engines that give a maximum speed of 16 knots and a cruising speed of 13.5 knots, with 400 and 650 nautical mile range, respectively. At an economical cruising speed of 10 knots the range increases to an impressive 1250 nautical miles.
