Ferretti 1000 SkyDeck Project sets Australian delivery date

Monaco sets the backdrop for the first Australian owner of Ferretti's biggest motor yacht yet

One of Ferretti Yachts’ all-new flagship models, the Ferretti 1000 SkyDeck Project, will call Australia home when it arrives here this year in time for summer.

Ray White Marine, the exclusive Australian distributor for the brand, closed the sale of the new ultra-luxury fibreglass superyacht at May’s Monaco Grand Prix.

The SkyDeck is based on the high-end motor yacht maker’s highly successful, circa $US11 million ($A16.6 million) Ferretti 1000, but instead of an open flybridge the SkyDeck features a fully enclosed one to create another level of living space.

The new model was only launched in March this year. The first of the new 30.1-metre SkyDecks is expected to roll out of Forretti’s Forli, Italy-based production line ahead of an official global debut at the 2023 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in October.

According to Ferretti, the stand-out feature of the SkyDeck is the fully glazed upper deck lounge with a full-height sliding glass door and a slatted roof that opens to allow natural ventilation.

For those times the climate isn’t as amenable, the closed-up space includes a reverse cycle air-conditioning and heating system, “giving the owner comfort in all conditions”.

Made for Australia

According to Ray White Marine, the motor yacht is a new build featuring five semi-enclosed cabins – the master is at deck level and extends across the entire internal beam – with “a specification tailored for Australia’s often harsh offshore conditions”.

The semi-displacement Ferretti 1000 SkyDeck is powered by twin 2638hp MTU 16V 2000 M96L diesel engines from Rolls-Royce, a powerplant known for its strong fuel efficiency over a range of revs.

“The new SkyDeck project caters perfectly for our clients in Australia and the South Pacific that want long-range voyages in all conditions,” Ray White Marine sales director Brock Rodwell said.

“Ferretti Group provides a great platform at the [Yacht Club de Monaco] yacht club for our clients over the Monaco Grand Prix to view the latest products from the yard.”

Ray White Marine has been the exclusive Australian distributor for Ferretti since 2015. The Ferretti 1000 SkyDeck is the largest boat it has sold into the Australian market.
