Fairline announces its fastest boat ever

This year’s London Boat Show saw the unveiling of Fairline's fastest model to date, a unique special-edition of the popular Targa 38.

Kept closely hidden until the Fairline Press Conference on the first day of the show, the Shadow Sport (S) is based on the Targa 38’s new 2015 specification and packed with unique styling features befitting its sports ethos. Throughout the boat’s exterior, special edition design touches contrast burnt orange upholstery, orange lighting, and an orange version of the iconic Fairline shield with carbon, graphite and titanium, including graphite hardtop and navigation equipment and a titanium coloured deck.

The Shadow S’s eye-catching colour scheme and finishing continues into the boat’s interior, with a titanium coloured helm with carbon fibre panels and carbon fibre bar doors contrasting with  orange upholstery with woven carbon piping and orange stitching on the new twin helm seat and steering wheel.

Powered by Volvo D6 400 engines, the Shadow S is capable of reaching the fastest speeds of any Fairline to date and is available with the option of a Sea-Doo Spark, in the same graphite colour as the boat’s decking and hull, to complete the boat’s sporty credentials.

The styling of the Shadow S has helped us push the boundaries of people’s expectations of Fairline. The very few people who have seen the boat in the development programme have all been blown away by the progressive styling. The complementary styling of the optional Sea-Doo SPARK that is available with the Shadow S helps to emphasise what a sporty package this is."

The Shadow S which was displayed at LBS has already been snapped up by a buyer in the United States. Immediately after the show, the boat will be whisked away to Southampton and a cargo ship will deliver Hull #1 to next month’s Miami Boat Show. Hull #2 has also already been sold to a buyer in Africa.

Meanwhile, Fairline also announced the introduction of two new 53 footers. The Targa 53 Gran Turismo and Squadron 53 follow on from the success of Fairline’s recently-launched 48ft models, also based on a common platform.

The 53ft models will follow the same strategy and benefit from the same technologies and production systems as the successful 48ft range.

Both models incorporate new styling cues, while also upholding Fairline’s best design traditions, featuring striking new panoramic hull windows that  complement the model’s new hull form and maximise light inside the boat. Customers are also able to choose the configuration that best suits their individual use of the boat, with the Targa 53GT and Squadron 53 available in both the standard 'C' cockpit seating, or the 'J' configuration that owners of Fairline’s Targa 48GT will be familiar with.

Both models will feature a generous mid master and a forward double, along with a third mid-ship twin cabin.

Fairline has chosen a shaft-driven configuration for the new project to maximise the aft space available for optional configurations such as a crew cabin or gyroscopic stabilisation. Customers will also be able to choose the alternative of fin stabilisation to ensure the highest levels of comfort, allowing owners and guests to relax in style on board. At least two engine options will be available with these models, offering a minimum fully loaded speed of 30 knots and a range of at least 300 nautical miles.

The Targa 53GT will make its debut at this year’s PSP Southampton Boat Show in September and the Squadron 53 will make its debut in Europe in January 2016, ready for the 2016 boating season.
