Eyachts marks 20 years in Australian and New Zealand boating market

The Australian distributor for popular brands like Axopar and Greenline Yachts is turning 20

Australian boat dealership Eyachts is celebrating its 20th anniversary, marking two decades since founder Peter Hrones established the business with the aim of introducing a range of European boat brands to local waters.

Since launching in 2006, Eyachts has grown into one of the larger importers and dealers of premium European powerboats and motor yachts in Australia and New Zealand. Its current portfolio includes brands such as Axopar, BRABUS Marine, Pardo Yachts, VanDutch, Greenline Yachts and Sirena Yachts.

The company says its growth has been driven by a strategy of identifying emerging European brands early and bringing them to the local market before they achieved widespread recognition.

Over the past two decades, Eyachts has expanded its offering across a broad range of boating segments, from adventure-focused dayboats and luxury motor yachts through to hybrid and electric-powered vessels. The dealership has also established an in-house service and technical support network, providing owners with maintenance, upgrades and aftersales assistance.

According to Eyachts, several hundred boats have been delivered across Australia and New Zealand since the company was founded. While sales volumes have been a key measure of success, the business points to its owner events and community-building initiatives as an important part of its long-term strategy.

The company regularly hosts owner gatherings around the country and has plans for a series of large-scale raft-up events in Queensland, Perth and Sydney during 2026.

Customer retention also appears to be a significant factor in the business's longevity. Several owners featured in anniversary material released by the company highlighted ongoing relationships with the dealership, with some purchasing multiple boats through Eyachts over the years.

The milestone comes at a time when the recreational boating industry is increasingly focused on sustainability, efficiency and alternative propulsion technologies. Eyachts' existing partnerships with brands such as Axopar and Greenline place it within a segment of the market actively investing in electric and hybrid-powered boating solutions.

Greenline has been among the pioneers of hybrid propulsion in the production motor yacht sector, while Axopar has recently expanded into electric boating through its AX/E range.

As manufacturers continue to develop new technologies aimed at reducing emissions and improving efficiency on the water, dealerships with established access to European innovation are likely to play an important role in introducing those products to Australian buyers.

For Eyachts, the 20-year milestone represents both a reflection on its history and an opportunity to position itself for the next phase of change within the boating industry.

With demand continuing for premium European brands and growing interest in alternative propulsion systems, the company says its focus remains on bringing new products to market while supporting owners throughout the boating lifecycle.
