Exhibitor space launched for SCIBS

New spaces, new layout and sea trials back on the program

Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (SCIBS) is now open for business after exhibitor spaces for the event launched on November 9.

Organisers says that SCIBS injects up to $148 million into the local economy and attracts close to 40,000 visitors to the display of boating and marine products across four days.

The 2016 show will run from May 19 to 22, with changes including new rates, new zones and additions to the layout that will "add to the impact of exhibitor spaces and enhance the visitor experience".

Commenting at the launch, SCIBS general manager Johan Hasser said: "Many of our exhibitors reported their best sales results in five years at last year’s Show.

"From a B2B and trade perspective, our exhibitors benefit from Sanctuary Cove hosting the Australian Marine Export & Superyacht (ASMEX) conference in the two days prior to SCIBS and many viable partnerships are formed from this contact."

A trade and consumer show endorsed by Tourism & Events Queensland, SCIBS is also a member of the International Federation of Boat Show Organisers (IFBSO).

SCIBS sales and exhibition manager Dominic O’Brien said the 2016 layout will give trailerboat exhibitors the option to display in a new dedicated waterfront precinct called The Boatyard, a creatively themed, eye-catching space that will bring together skiboats, performance RIBS and trailerable boats fitted out for angling, diving or family getaways.

Located adjacent to George’s Paragon restaurant and C Pier, Mr O’Brien said The Boatyard offers 1600sqm of prime display space for exhibitors to showcase their latest models, with the added bonus of being able to offer sea trials to buyers.

"We have created a dedicated space for this boating size range, so whether entry-level or premium, visitors will be able to view all the latest models all in one exciting location," Mr O’Brien said.

Among other changes, the Superyacht & Marine Pavilion will relocate alongside the Main Pavilion, encouraging foot traffic through a display of Australian-made products, global service providers and the latest gear and gadgets like nav equipment, propellers, pontoons, interior items and marinas offering berths for lease or sale.

Ramping up the luxury lifestyle factor, SCIBS 2016 will also welcome a dedicated ‘Supercar Street’ within The Marine Village – a covetable display of sports, convertible, luxury, prestige and supercar vehicles in one location.

Featuring the best the marine industry has to offer, the event will also feature the exclusive Top Deck VIP Lounge, the International Business Lounge, live entertainment, a kids zone, demonstrations and the popular Women on Water program.

Early Bird discounts will apply to exhibitors who book and pay in full by December 18. For more information go to: www.sanctuarycoveboatshow.com.au or phone the Boat Show office on +617 5577 6011.
