Evinrude introduces E-Link virtual dash for your mobile device
Monitor and control your Evinrude's functionality remotely via the new E-Link app and gatewayAlong with a new range of Evinrude E-TEC G2 outboards from 150hp-200hp, BRP has just released a 'virtual dashboard' called the Evinrude E-Link that displays and offers direct control of important Evinrude E-TEC G2 engine features from a mobile device.
In keeping with the trend to greater connectivity on boats and mobile devices integration, E-Link shares critical E-TEC G2 engine data over the NMEA 2000 network via WiFi to any iOS or Android device on your boat. You can see the Android appin the screen grabs in the additional photos above.
Evinrude E-Link mirrors the data shown on Evinrude’s Icon Touch displays, giving boat operators fingertip access to vital engine and vessel information including:
>> Engine RPM, fuel flow, trim position and oil level, as well as fuel levels, battery voltage and water depth.
>> Two Trip Logs to assist boaters with fuel management by calculating distance traveled, fuel consumed and average and maximum speed.
>> An Eco page that allows boaters to achieve the best possible efficiency in different operating conditions by monitoring estimated range and average fuel use.
>> A Concierge page that includes links to the Evinrude "Find a Dealer" webpage as well as a "Send Engine Data" option to forward engine data directly to a dealer or service team via email.

In addition to displaying data, Evinrude E-Link also gives operators remote control of Evinrude’s i-Trim intelligent trim system and Dynamic Power Steering feature.
The device also is capable of initiating Evinrude E-TEC G2 "one touch" auto-winterisation (applicable for Northern Hemisphere markets).
Said to be easy to install, E-Link is fully customisable, can be set to five different languages, and displays data in metric, imperial, U.S. standard and nautical units of measure. More at http://www.evinrude.com/en-au.
