Evinrude E-TECs dominate the Bridge-to-Bridge

Showcasing superior acceleration, top-speed, and racedayperformance, Evinrude E-TEC's boats flew ahead ofthe pack in Australia's most prestigious Ski Race.

Evinrude E-TEC have once again proved they are on top of the Australian ski racing circuit with a dominating performance at the Feros Hotel Group Bridge
to Bridge Ski Race Classic.

The race saw Evinrude-powered competitors win numerous classes across the weekend, including the highly-competitive SMOC, MOC and F2 divisions. The event also saw long-standing race records broken by Evinrude racers, as well as a new world record set for the longest backward ski leg.

In SMOC, Paul Armstrong and Team Evinrude ran a near-faultless race, powering home to win the class: "We are extremely pleased to have wrapped up this year's race and finish on top. SMOC is probably one of the most hotly-contested classes and we are thrilled to have come across the line first. The boys skied a great race, and the Evinrude 250 HO didn’t miss a beat," said Armstrong after the race.

Also powered by the performance-bred Evinrude 250 HO, driver Craig Norris and the Streamline Boat Covers team crossed the line first in MOC, setting a new race record for the division. While in F2, Matt Wastle and the Miss Force team also stood atop of the podium in record breaking time.

The event also saw a world record broken with Darren Osmortherly skiing backwards the full length of the course. The feat set a new record for the longest distance skied backwards.

Amazingly, after the record was completed, Darren's boat was picked up by helicopter and airlifted back to the start line where he competed in the Unlimited Outboard Class. Darren's boat was powered by the high-performance Evinrude 250 HO platform.

With the largest displacement engine in its class (210 cu in), the platform offers maximum power and performance with fewer parts and cooler operating temperatures. The multi-point oiling system provides pinpoint oiling of cylinder walls, crankshaft and connecting rods to maximize lubrication and minimise oil
consumption. And with a lightning gearcase that withstands almost anything you throw at it, the Evinrude 250 HO is setting the benchmark for racing and high-performance boating.
