The Roads and Maritime Services guide to all of the events planned for Sydney Harbour this summer, including maps, safety advice and tips as well as on-water traffic restrictions, is now available.
Roads and Maritime Director Maritime Angus Mitchell said the annual guide to key aquatic events is hot off the press and available free from boating safety officers or from waterfront clubs, marinas, outdoor retailers and boating chandleries across Sydney.
"The 28-page colour Sydney’s Summer Aquatic Events – A Boating Guide provides safety and navigation advice and details the major aquatic events planned to take place on Sydney Harbour.
"This includes advice for boaters on anchoring, best vantage points, special-event navigation restrictions and exclusion zones,” Mr Mitchell said.
"The big events which draw hundreds of thousands of spectators – afloat and ashore – are all listed, such as the Sydney to Hobart Race start on Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve on Sydney Harbour and the many events planned for Australia Day.
"There is a section on the Extreme Sailing Series which will take place for the first time in Sydney and involve teams from Asia, the Middle East, Europe and Russia from Friday to Sunday, December 12-14.
"There are also maps of events and race courses to help skippers prepare for and plan their day on the water," he added.
