Euro launch of Hyundai SeasAll Marine engines

SeasAll Marine, a new corporate venture with Hyundai Kia Motors, has entered the marine engine market and is now seeking distributors worldwide

Marketed under the SeasAll Marine brand, the new diesel engines will compete with parts of the Volvo, Cummins/MerCruiser and VW ranges.

The new 3.0lt V6 four-stroke diesel engines in the S240 series have a power rating of 236.7hp and 490Nm of torque. Weighing 325kg, the sterndrive, shaftdrive and waterjet models are said to be ultra-light, extremely compact, quiet and fuel-efficient.

The 2.0/2.2lt in-line four-stroke diesels in the D170 series offer 168hp of power and 348Nm of torque. They are available in sterndrive or shaftdrive and weigh 260kg. Engine power, fuel consumption and emissions are optimised with electronic management and common rail fuel injection.

SeasAll Marine is actively building a global network and is now seeking distributors in Europe, with mass production scheduled for the first half of 2009.

The Hyundai Group is a major global corporation with interests in finance, service and manufacturing. Its other companies include Hyundai Heavy Industries, one of the world's largest shipbuilders.
