Port-a-Moor is the first environmentally friendly, reusable, and safe temporary anchoring system, said the company.
"This is a lightweight, easy-to-carry system which can be quickly installed with a hand-tool which screws the three pins into the sea floor," said Paul McLean, accessories manager for Mercury Marine Asia-Pacific.
"And Port-a-Moor works in sand, mud or gravel so you don't have to waste time looking for a particular kind of mooring area," McLean said.
Mercury Marine said Port-a-Moor overcomes the environmental dangers associated with mooring, by ensuring that when the boat moves the mooring line does not drag across the sea floor and destroy the marine habitat.
The system is also secure - providing the equivalent of 1.1 tonnes of deadweight.
"The important thing to remember is that the holding force is 100% efficient," said McLean.
"People tend to forget that solid objects, like the old-fashioned concrete block, lose up to 50 per cent of their weight efficiency due to buoyancy and get dragged," he said.
Port-a-Moor can also be used for: channel markers; buoys for ski lanes and swimming channels; river moorings; and, semi-permanent yacht rounding buoys.
