Eagle revamps interiors

Would-be buyers suggest changes for ocean cruiser

Eagle Cruisers, whose Eagle 53 attracted significant interest at the Sydney Boat Show earlier this year, has announced some new plans for the boat following feedback from customers.

After consultation with the yachts' builder, TMC Taiwan, the Eagle 53 will now be offered with a newly designed flybridge area with a hardtop, lounge, table and BBQ.

There will also be provision for a crane and storage for a RIB tender.

Following inquires from boaties who wanted  private access to the master stateroom, an alternative stair arrangement has been designed to offer direct access from the saloon. The stateroom has also been rejigged to allow a two-seater day lounge to replace the large desk that dominated the port side of the cabin.

The Eagle 53's original design offered a choice between a third cabin with twin bunk beds or a large laundry with washer and dryer. A new design enables owners to opt for the bunk cabin and have the laundry relocated in the lazarette, behind the engine room.

A heavy displacement cruiser with twin diesel engines, the Eagle 53 is designed as an economical passage maker and comfortable live-aboard craft.

On the Sydney Show's demonstrator's return run to Queensland, the cruiser covered the 323 nautical miles in 37 hours and 45 minutes, using just 3.93 litres of diesel per nautical mile.

Eagle Yachts says the strength of the Australian dollar makes the Eagle 53, the price of which ex-factory is in US dollars, great value for money.
