
Utilising the optimum propulsive efficiency using leading edge CADCAM systems, Ultrajet units are the ideal propulsion choice for a wide range of applications ranging from pleasure craft to workboats, ferries, fishing boats and other craft, said Drivetrain Marine.
The distributor said the Ultrajets are based on high-efficiency axial flow pumps incorporating state-of-the-art computer-generated impeller technology. The intake housing and control elements are matched to application requirements, said Drivetrain Marine.
All waterjets are rated for real-world operating conditions and for unique craft with light hulls or for hulls with low resistance, these ratings can be reviewed, said the company.
The units are available to match most petrol, high-speed diesel and gas turbine engines up to 900kW (1200hp), and Ultrajets excel where thrust is required to quickly accelerate the boat on to plane with a full load, and to maintain planing performance at cruise throttle settings, said Drivetrain Marine.
Precise vessel control is available regardless of speed, with 360° on-the-spot rotation from a single jet, and true sideways movement in multi-jet applications, said the company.
Drivetrain Marine said all units are supplied as a complete marine propulsion package, with integral intake and transition duct, reverse and steering systems. Ultrajets are also available in a power jet version, which has no steering or reverse deflector. Power jets are often used in the center of a triple jet installation, said the company.
The Ultrajet impeller is carefully matched to the power curve of the selected engine/gearbox and is supplied in four, five and six-blade options (some models only), to suit the specified power and craft duty, said the company.
