Docking helpers

Winter weather places different docking demands

Winter winds and storm surge can cause problems for boat owners with vessels berthed on marinas as shock loads can damage dock lines, cleats and fittings.

One solution is to fit Marine Solutions' shock-absorbing mooring compensators to dock lines.

Made from a long-lasting flexible compound, the mooring compensators provide a simple and inexpensive solution to ease high stress loads on dock lines.

Available in four sizes to accommodate lines up to 24mm, the mooring compensators are easy to fit according to Marine Solutions -- the line is simply threaded through the holes in either end of the compensator and wrapped around the body.

The number of turns varies the compensating movement in the dock lines, an advantage offered only by Marine Solutions' product.

Priced from just $64.75 each, the compensators can be customised by Marine Solutions to customised lines in a variety of colours and with already spliced ends.

For more information, contact Marine Solutions, tel (03) 9670 3305 or visit the company's website here.
