Kiwi brand Stabicraft has announced via video that it is about to launch an all-new boat, but a trigger-happy dealer has spoilt the surprise party.
The boat-builder last week released a teaser video flagging an all-new boat was coming, with speculation suggesting a full reveal would come later this week. However, a NZ-based dealer's website carries the full images of the boat online, as well as all the juicy details.
The teaser video shows a blue hull and the low, geodesic blacked-out windscreen of the Stabicraft 1850 Fisher, but this boat seems to feature a much lower bow rail and something sitting high above the cockpit.
Jump over to the dealer’s website, and images show that yep, its the range-topping Stabicraft 1850 Fisher Superfish. The boat in the video and the one in the dealer’s images both have the low bow rail, as well as a handsomely styled black rocket launcher capable of holding 10 rods that you could trace the outline of in the video.
The details accompanying the dealer’s post reveal even more. The boat in the images wears a new-model 115hp Evinrude E-TEC G2 two-stroke outboard engine equipped with hydraulic steering, and fuelled by a 150-litre underfloor tank.
Up front, there’s a drum winch that is mounted inside the bow.
The 1850 Fisher Superfish listed is equipped with what looks like a flush-mounted Garmin EchoMAP chartplotter and fishfinder, and VHF radio, Elite bolser seats with cantilever bases, a powdercoated live bait tank and bait board, U-Dek rubber flooring, a deck wash, rear boarding ladder and a pair of IcyTek cooler boxes.
The boat as shown is priced from $NZ92,000, or the equivalent of around $85,000 – expent to add a bit more to the Aussie-landed price once ecxhange rates and delivery fees are added to the bill.
The compact 4.7-metre Stabicraft 1550 Fisher is the brand’s best-selling model.
