Dargle Powerboat Racing Spectacular

Hot weekend on the Upper Hawkesbury

If you like your boating high powered and high octane, then head to the upper Hawkesbury for the Dargle 2012 Powerboat Racing Spectacular this weekend (Feb 25-26). Food, booze and camping are available during the big meet on a section of the river cordoned off for exclusive racing use.

Featured events include the Dargle Gold Cup -- Unlimited Open; King of the River -- Unlimited Unrestricted Invitation; Casenails -- 6-litre Open; and Chiquita Cup -- 5-litre Open. Up to 15 other classes might be racing right down to 25hp and 550cc outboards skippered by talented juniors.

An Unlimited Unblown class race will also be held. Entry costs $20 Saturday and $25 Sunday, with camping from $10 per person per night. You have to buy all your food and drinks on site. Details at www.dargle.com.au. More great photos at www.dargle.com.au/photo_gallery.htm.

The fun will start on Saturday morning at 312 River Road, Lower Portland, NSW. Phone (02)45791291.
