The south and central parts of the east coast will be affected by a low pressure system from Tuesday night, bringing strong to gale-force west to southwesterly winds, warns the Recreational Fishing Alliance of NSW.
Seas of up to six metres are expected from the Illawarra south to the Eden coast on Wednesday plus swell of between one to three metres inshore, and up to around four metres offshore.
Winds are expected to gradually ease during Thursday as the low moves away from the coast, leaving seas of around three metres and swell of around three metres from the Hunter coast south to the Victorian border.
Conditions are expected to be hazardous for coastal activities such as crossing bars by boat and rock fishing.
