The boat ramp at the Somerville House Rowing Club on the Brisbane River was packed, proving there’s a lot of interest in the new Lewis ski boats, according to Wynnum Marine.
Six models were at the ready, and existing Lewis boat owners had the opportunity to bring their craft along and learn from industry professionals how to maximise their craft’s potential.
Lewis Boats managing director Steve Parker was on hand to meet with customers, supported by ski and wakeboarding professionals Brian Casey and the KC Wake Team, plus world number two wakeboarding identity Tallun Rose.
“We wanted to provide the opportunity for our Lewis Boats customers to come and trial new models and also meet the people behind the Lewis success story,” Wynnum Marine director Danny Nichols said.
The first two Lewis Challenger 2080 wakeboarding boats built in Australia have both been sold through Wynnum Marine.
The 2080 is the newest model in the Lewis range and is a more compact alternative to the existing 2280 Challenger.
A 5.7lt V8 MerCruiser delivering 315hp is said to give the 2080 ample power and manoeuvrability for high-end slalom skiing or constant, ballast-pushing wake sessions. A long list of standard features is also offered with the optional Lewis Wake Package, featuring a tower and ballast setup.
