Diesel outboard engine maker Cox will step out at Monaco, taking superyacht owners out on test drives of a twin-outboard engined Ribco Seafarer 36 using the same fuel as powers their luxury yachts.
The premier Monaco Yacht Show kicks off at the iconic coastal microstate from September 25-28, and often features the latest and greatest in high-end motor yachts.

Cox Marine said it would encourage superyacht owners, skippers and crew to test the outboard engines “to find out how the CXO300 can benefit their operations”.
“Of particular interest to superyacht owners, captains and management companies, will be the convenience of using a single fuel for both mothership and tender plus the additional safety benefits that diesel fuel brings,” it said.
The engines on test will be the Cox CXO300, classed the world’s most powerful oil-burning outboard engine on the market.
A twin-turbo 4.4-litre narrow-bank V8, the Cox CXO300 produces 300hp between 3700-4000rpm, while torque is an impressive 650Nm.
The British outboard engine maker claims the CXO300 has up to 25 per cent more range than an equivalent petrol-powered outboard engine and twice as much torque, is more compact than an equivalent in-board engine, and takes up much less space.
“The CXO300 is available in the white cowling option traditionally favoured by the superyacht market,” Cox said.
“In addition to the exceptional performance, innovative features and first-class service, it has been developed to offer all the attributes of a high-end design expected from a premium brand.”
