Ramada Couran Cove Island Resort on stunning South Stradbroke Island continues to be a favourite anchorage for Gold Coast boaters with no fewer than 17 Maritimo and Mustang owners set to tie up for a cruise in company weekend on August 22, 23 and 24.
Ormonde Britton’s Maritimo Gold Coast Brokerage has arranged the getaway weekend for clients and friends and he said it looks like being a runaway success.
"We have 17 boats locked in at this stage and that number is rising so with about 50 people involved it should be a fantastic weekend," he said.
The largest vessel involved is a Maritimo S58 purchased by Ron and Lynne Coleman in March and the baby of the fleet is a Mustang 35 owned by Dave and Lorraine Hatton.
Ramada Couran Cove Island Resort is throwing out the welcome mat for the Maritimo fleet with Chef Chris McIntyre planning a sumptuous degustation dinner for Saturday night.
Resort CEO John Muntz said Couran Cove was a favourite destination for boat owners in winter as each berth provides power enabling skippers to run heaters when things got a bit crisp. "We are looking forward to the Maritimo weekend and we have other such events planned with various yacht clubs and other brands," he said.
