Coastryder launches at Mandurah
Big splash to show strength of new fibreglass boatsThe New Zealand-designed range of Coastryder boats will have a spectacular launch at the Mandurah Boat Show next month when a six-metre Coastryder will be lifted by a helicopter and dropped back into the water to demonstrate its strength.
Coastryder boats are designed by award-winning Kiwi designer Brett Bakewell-White who is well-known in Australia for his involvement in the 1986 America's Cup.
He has also designed the NZ Offshore champion powerboat in 2006, 07 and 08.
The company will have the largest display at the Mandurah show, covering 700 square metres and featuring 23 boats, and predicts it will soon become one of Australia's top selling brands.
The Coastryder range includes fibreglass boats from five metres to 8.2m as well as RIBs and personal water craft. The boats feature hand-laid construction and have no wood in the hulls -- high-density foam is used in sandwich construction to produce the very strong hulls.
The popular 8.2 metre hull is available in three variations -- Bowryder, Centre Console and Sports Cruiser. Coastryder claims its hull design delivers a smooth and dry ride even in adverse conditions.
Fishermen are catered for with a 6m hardtop offshore Fisherman and the very traditional-looking S15 "clinker dinghy".
Visitors to the Coastryder exhibit at Mandurah will also have the opportunity to win the show prize, a five-metre RIB fully optioned with a teak floor and a 60hp outboard. The prize package is valued at $36,990.
