Clipper Motor Yachts, the manufacturer of luxury trawler-style vessels, is pleased to unveil its new Explorer series of traditional pilothouse, long range, offshore motor yachts ranging from 50 to 70 feet.
The pilothouse yachts have been designed for discerning cruising clients, offering a level of quality and customisation usually only available to the buyers of much larger boats.
The first model to be released in the exclusive Explorer series is the pilothouse 50. Clipper says the first vessel is already sold and the second boat will start build later this year, in the company’s state of the art shipyard in Ningbo, China.
The Explorer 50 is the most compact vessel in the range offering ample living and entertaining space all finished to the highest standard and will replace the Cordova 52 in the lineup.
The Explorer 50 takes on the classic pilothouse design with a raised lower helm and galley.
“It’s a true pilothouse with an all new hull and deck, long-range tanks and in the 50-foot league, which is a bit more accessible than the more common 55-plus footers in this design. We’ve got a lot of interest from existing Clipper 40 owners,” Pacific Motor Yachts principal Brett Thurley told Boatpoint and boatsales.
The saloon and cockpit are situated on the lower level with an internal staircase leading to the flybridge where there is a double reversible helm seat, large
pilothouse sofa and a foredeck seat.
Interior timbers come in a choice of light or dark wood, with accommodation plans for two cabins -- full-beam master – and two heads or three cabins and two heads.
Mr Thurley said that the options were endless with the choice of a flybridge hardtop or enclosed flybridge. As well as a two or three cabin layout option available.
The two-cabin design includes a full width master stateroom amidships with an island bed. Each cabin has its own ensuite and plenty of hanging space and
storage.
Wide side decks make this vessel highly accessible and safer when maneuvering around the boat.
Priced from $1.190m, the Explorer 50 comes highly equipped.
The Explorer 50, will be joined by the Explorer 55 next year and the Explorer 70 in 2015 to complete the series. The range will feature economical long range
cruising with extra fuel capacity.
