Pacific Motor Yachts and Clipper guests enjoyed an exclusive evening under the stars on Saturday, February 8, in a beautiful and balmy Broadwater setting at Southport Parklands.
Many boat owners made use of the accessible facilities and nine boats moored overnight in front of the Pier. Clipper tells us that a new Clipper Cordova 48 was on its maiden voyage and owners, David and Val, were delighted to be welcomed into the Clipper family.
Tendering into the private dock at 4.00pm, they joined the party for pre-dinner drinks and a three-hour, live acoustic performance by Peter Cupples. The lights of Marina Mirage and Southport Yacht Club shaped the backdrop for the beachside long-table dinner, arranged in a striking open setting.
The kids enjoyed running around on the wide range of playgrounds, but it was the Pier that had them the most entertained -- posing as the perfect skate park and runway for a catwalk show.
Forty guests sat down to fresh local produce paired with Penfolds and Tempest Two wines. A professional chef plated up seasoned wagyu porterhouse, barbequed garlic prawn skewers and Moreton Bay bugs alongside gourmet salads with French flavour dressings and sauces.
An extravagant show of fireworks capped off an elegant yet laid-back evening enjoyed by all, we're told. No doubt this event will be marked on the calendar as a must attend event next year.
