The Classic Boatfest invites the participation and exhibition of traditional and classic boats - steam, sail, motor and oared craft of all sizes. Boats must be of a design prior to 1975 but may have been built at any time from any material. Everyone is welcome to this free waterfront event at Regatta Park, Toronto, on Lake Macquarie.
Over the two-day event there are model boat demonstrations and races, kids' activities, live entertainment on stage, small amusement rides, an art exhibition, classic and vintage vehicle displays, market stalls, historic display and vintage farm machinery.
On Sunday the Quick'n'Dirty boat building competition is held on the foreshore with the race and judging following. The event culminates in a Grand Parade and Blessing of the Fleet at 3.00pm on the Sunday afternoon. The Festival provides a wonderful experience for people of all ages.
The organisers say they welcome new members of the Assocation at $10 for individual membership, and also welcome volunteers to assist at the event.
