Chaparral’s 244 Xtreme stern-drive wake boat has beaten its shaft-drive competitors at their own game in the latest "Australia’s Greatest Sports Boat" shoot out.
Pitched against more traditional wake-boat brands such as Malibu, Mastercraft and M.B, the Xtreme 244 came in as runner up, only two points behind the winner.
With 1800 points on offer, the judges considered criteria such as quality of finish, ergonomics, value for money and appearance. The Chaparral scored highly across the board with perfect scores for suitability for purpose, design, layout, stability and standard equipment.
"As far as tow boats go the Chaparral Xtreme is definitely one out of the box," says Chaparral Australia’s Scott O’Hare. "We know a number of our competitors did not believe that we should have been in the running, but Chaparral designed the Xtreme as a cross-over wake boat suitable for saltwater use, so we were not surprised to rate so highly against this competition, it was very pleasing to see Kristin Bower, the wakeboarding expert, praise the Xtreme, describing the wake as clean, easy to ride, steep and solid," O’Hare added. "We have convinced a sceptic that the Xtreme was a winner, noting that the boat -- and in particular the wake -- was right at home with the best tow boats in the world."
The Xtreme range from Chaparral include a number of wake setting options, multiple tower options, digital rider speed control, the latest premium stereo system and a huge standard features list.
