Cash Flows For Boat Groups

The Victorian government has approved $5.2 million in grants to upgrade facilities for recreational boaters and search and rescue organisations as part of its 2006-07 Boating Safety and Facilities Program

Minister for Transport Peter Batchelor announced the successful applicants at Patterson River.

“The Patterson River boat launching facility is one of 133 projects that will receive funding from the 2006-07 program in an effort to making boating safer and more accessible for all Victorians,” he said.

“The Bracks Government has provided $450,760 towards the Patterson River boat ramp to improve accessibility for boaters who use this popular facility.

“Works will include installation of floating infrastructure, construction of boat ramps, improved lighting, upgraded itinerant berthing and car park works, and new electronic variable message signage.”

Batchelor said search and rescue organisations across the state would get $1 million for key equipment and training purposes, while a range of other sites and user groups would also receive a cash injection.
