BIAV President Paul Benjamin has called for recreational boater and marine industry feedback on ideas for improving Victoria’s recreational boating infrastructure and priority boating projects.
"I urge all industry members and recreational boaters to provide BIAV with priority infrastructure projects and ideas for the Working Group to consider at their next meeting," Mr Benjamin said.
"You can provide this feedback directly to us or via our BIAV website survey.
"The Victorian Coalition Government is listening to our industry and recreational boaters. Any comments or feedback on boating facilities are welcome and will be essential to delivering better boating outcomes and facility service levels," Mr Benjamin said.
Minister for Ports David Hodgett joined Mr Benjamin in calling for feedback.
"The new working group is key to drawing on industry expertise and feedback from local fishers and boaters to provide advice on ways to improve Victoria’s boating infrastructure, including how it can be better used and accessed," Mr Hodgett said.
The Working Group on Recreational Boating Facilities has been tasked with considering the following issues for its next meeting:
>> Priorities for projects to enhance boating infrastructure capacity
>> Ideas to improve utilisation of current boating infrastructure
>> Ideas for combating congestion at boat ramps during peak periods
>> Ideas for improving data collection on recreational boating
