The second Buizen 52 was launched the week before Christmas and is now ready to be handed over to her excited owners following sailing tests on Pittwater. The performance-optimised pilothouse yacht topped 10.6 knots SOG running downwind under kite in around 12 to 15 knots of breeze and peaked around 9 knots going to windward.
"She absolutely flew in a moderate breeze on Pittwater with her full carbon pack. Our racing owners are ecstatic, as are we. She leaves us mid-next week," says Steve Howe, Director of Buizen Yachts. The yacht sports a beautifull gun-metal silver hull, a rosewood and walnut interior, and that full carbon rig.
She will now be sailed to her new homeport in Tasmania. You can read our review of the first Buizen 52, also a $2-million-plus pilothouse, which we tested for our sites after it was launched last year.
The handcrafted yachts are proudly designed and built in Terrey Hills in Sydney’s north using the very finest shipwrights and superyacht designers in the country.
