The Marina berths are the first stage of the Pacific Harbour Marina Village, cradling the entrance to Moreton Bay and the Pumicestone Passage Marine Park at Bribie Island, and will be ready to welcome ashore its first nautical guests in November, said developers.
The four-arm marina, to be constructed in two stages, will accommodate 150 berths ranging from 10 to 18 metres with a mix of mono and multi-hull berthing optinos. A limited number of berths will be available for purchase with the remainder being available for rental.
Star Marinas said Pacific Harbour Marina offers high quality, modern facilities, and will include Marinanet wireless internet service, holding-tank pump-out facilities, a short-term berthing jetty, security access control, parking, laundry, showers and restrooms.
Set in the award winning Pacific Harbour EnviroDevelopment and adjacent to the Pumicestone Passage Marine Park, the marina was designed within strict environmental guidelines, said Star marinas.
"Traditional marinas can be fairly grimy and noisy places if there's a lot of maintenance work going on," said Warren Russell, Star Marinas operations manager, "so the Pacific Harbour Marina is 100 per cent focused on our core values of liveability and sustainability."
Star Marinas said the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron has elected to make Pacific Harbour its northern base for sportsfishing with a facility that inclues a weighing station for billfish competitions and the ideal location due to its proximity to the sportsfishing grounds of Moreto, said the developers.
Star Marinas said boaties will also have the opportunity to take advantage of the Star Marinas Cruising Club incentives and flexible bookings. The Club, said the company, links Coffs Harbour International Marina, Pacific Harbour and Tin Can Bay for the cruising boating community.
The entertainment and retail precinct and boardwalk will be the next stage to commence at the Pacific harbour Marina. Targeted uses for this hub include a market, delicatessen, pharmacy, bottle shop, bakery, newsagent, chandlery and cafes.
The final stages of the Pacific Harbour Marina will include a gated villa precinct, waterfront apartments and townhouses, completing the village atmosphere of the marina.
"The marina will be regarded as a destination in itself," said Russell.
"Combined with our natural attributes and being only an hour from Brisbane airport it's clear that Pacific Harbour Marina will be one of Australia's most popular spots for boaties," he said.
