Boston Whaler’s latest 365 Conquest is a first-class offshore sport fisher, weekend cruiser, and entertainer which combines luxurious interior with stunning performance. Our test boat is paired with dual Mercury 600hp 12-volt four-stroke outboards.
Boston Whaler is historically best known for its unsinkable centre console fishing day boats, but this high-end fibreglass boat manufacturer also builds outboard powered cabin cruisers – the Conquest series.
There are four Conquest variations in the Boston Whaler boat range: 285, 325, 365, and 405 model lengths.
We tested the Boston Whaler 365 Conquest paired with dual Mercury 600hp V12 four-stroke outboards.

Boston Whaler 365 Conquest boat packages start at $1,850,000 when rigged with the dual Mercury 600hp outboards in the 760 millimetres (30-inch) ultra-long shaft drive configuration.
Of course, this entry package is far from basic – it comes wonderfully outfitted with premium features.

The Boston Whaler 365 Conquest is a cabin cruiser with a bridge-deck helm station between a large, full width (air conditioned) forward cabin, and a broad rear cockpit.
The large, tastefully finished forward cabin is situated four teak steps down from the bridge and helm station, forward of a lockable sliding entry door.
As you enter the cabin there is a full height head compartment with electric-flush toilet and separate shower (with acrylic door) to starboard, opposite a wet bar and comfy lounge seat.
This optional port side wet bar incorporates a solid-surface Corian benchtop with sink and mixer tap, as well as a fridge/freezer and storage space.
A single burner induction cooktop can be added as an additional option.
Above the wet bar there is an overhead microwave oven, more storage cupboards, and the ship’s main switchboard.

Behind the stairs, beneath the bridge-deck is a lounge seating area that converts into a spacious transverse double bed.
An overhead ventilation hatch and cabin side windows brighten the interior with ambient light.
The stand-out cabin feature is the six-seater forward dinette that innovatively converts into the master double bed.
Pressing one button lowers the dinette table to the appropriate position. A second button electronically secures the outer bench seats, transforming them into a spacious island double bed.
The system works a treat – and is surrounded by loads of bench space, a hanging cupboard, and compartments to stow everything you might need for a weekend away.

The bridge-deck helm station and saloon are enclosed on three sides under a full-height fibreglass hardtop, complemented by large optional opening side windows and a single curved front windshield with dual wipers.
A large captain’s chair with armrests and flip-up front bolster fronts a broad, gloss black coloured dash which comes standard with a pair of 16-inch Simrad multi-function displays.
A third Simrad display is built into the fascia panel in front of the co-pilot over to port.
In our test boat the standard displays were swapped out for three Simrad NSO EVO3S 19-inch displays.
Key helm features include: the tilt-adjust stainless steering wheel, binnacle throttle control box, cup holders, compass, joystick control, a full width footrest, and a VHF radio and Sea Keeper display situated in a panel overhead.

Behind the helm station is a second, outdoor wet bar equipped with a solid-surface benchtop, stowable cutting board, sink with mixer tap faucet, and a refrigerator.
A single burner electric cooktop can be optioned to this aft galley.
Over to port there is a four-person dinette seating area with a folding teak table which lowers to create an outdoor berth/lounging space.
The front and rear double-wide box bench seats which create the outdoor bed have reversible backrests so that both can face forward – or aft as required.
When the rear most box bench seat has the back rest rotated forward, a comfy cockpit/stern facing two-person chair is created thanks to a wide, pull-out footrest.
Ventilation is taken care of thanks to the full-height sliding side windows, windscreen air vents, overhead opening glass sunroof – and the helm/saloon AC system with multiple outlet vents.

The teak floored (optional) aft cockpit stretches 1.66m long by a massive 3.03m wide – between the 710mm high side decks.
Key fishing features include a small 70L live well built into the port side transom, four coaming rod holders, dual-purpose cup or sinker holders, four vertical transom rod holders, padded coaming bolsters, rod holders to the alloy hardtop supports, pull-out tackle drawers, freshwater deck wash and shower, plus a large sub-floor kill tank to each side of a massive underfloor lazarette.
The lazarette, which doubles as the mechanical room, houses all the batteries, pumps, and steering gear, along with the fire suppression system, an optional 12kW diesel generator, and an optional Seakeeper gyro stabiliser.
Other cockpit features include an optional fold-out port side bench seat, optional teak flooring, optional cockpit sunshade, shore power outlets, transom boarding door, and a starboard side dive door with a telescopic stainless-steel ladder.
The optional centre transom summer kitchen on our test boat added a Corian countertop, cup holders, a folding-faucet sink, electric grill, fridge, pull-out storage drawers, courtesy lighting, and a cupboard for waste.

Our test boat’s twin Mercury 600hp four-stroke outboards deliver a combined 1200hp through each engine’s two-speed gearbox to accelerate the big Boston Whaler to a top speed of 47.8-knots (88.4km/h).
Now that’s seriously quick for such a big rig!
Despite its size, the 365 Conquest feels solid and rattle-free at speed, so even at wide-open throttle it doesn’t seem especially fast – a testament to Boston Whaler’s build quality and the noise-dampening benefits of its patented Unibond composite construction.
Once underway, the hull feels exceptionally planted, secure, and well-balanced – quiet, soft, and comfortable – even when cruising at 35-knots (almost 65km/h) straight into a 1.5-1.8m headsea offshore.
With such a wide 3.66m beam and a modest 19-degree transom deadrise, the Boston Whaler 365 Conquest is wharf-like stable.
Skiing and wakeboarding are also possible behind the big Boston Whaler, given it has 1200hp bolted to the transom – but the prowess of this boat is cruising smoothly, comfortably offshore.

The Boston Whaler 365 Conquest is a seriously good sports cabin cruiser and an excellent offshore game fishing boat.
