Boston Whaler 230 Outrage awarded as best in class

Recognised as one of the best centre consoles in its class, the Boston Whaler 230 Outrage has arrived Down Under

Now in stock with Queensland Marine Centre, the impressive Boston Whaler 230 Outrage recently collected a coveted Innovation Award from the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA).

The latest addition to the Outrage family was awarded by the NMMA in the Centre Console/Walkaround Fishing Boats category. The awards were announced at the 2017 Miami International Boat Show.

Having tested the award-winning 230 Outrage, both here and in America late last year, we can certainly vouch for the boat’s superb ride and upmarket fit and finish.

The 230 Outrage is remarkably spacious for its size, thanks to the coamings around the bow being ‘pushed’ outboard as far as possible. This flared interior maximises seating space, legroom and storage, while adding to the overall sense of security for bow passengers.

Another standout feature is the innovative Converting Leaning Post with a hidden workstation perfect for prepping baits, tackle or snacks. The leaning post also converts to an aft-facing seat.

There have been other refinements to the 230 Outrage to improve the centre console’s functionality and broaden the boat’s general appeal.

FAMILY AND FISHING
Boston Whaler says its 230 Outrage was designed for today’s centre console market and is therefore well-suited to entertaining and serious fishing.

The 23 footer is said to balance comfort and capability, on one hand excel as a fishing platform, yet it’s also designed to facilitate fun-filled days on the water with a group of friends and family.

Amenities including a standard head in the console contribute to everyone’s comfort. Anglers will appreciate the integrated fibreglass hardtop option. Rod holders are placed strategically throughout the cockpit, and the transom features a convenient portside livewell.

At the helm, several new refinements make captaining duties a pleasure. A darker console face reduces glare, and an intuitive control panel with optional Raymarine E95 touchscreens makes for seamless command.

The boat comes with a choice of Mercury Verado outboard engines in single or twin configuration. Boston Whaler says its precision-engineered deep-V hull, featuring full-length lifting strakes and a noticeable flair in the bow, gives a soft, safe, dry ride.
