Boston Whaler has introduced an all-new entry-level model to its Vantage range of split-console family boats.
According to Boston Whaler, the 6.47-metre Boston Whaler 210 Vantage is all the best of the Vantage line of boats shrunken down into the smallest package the US fibreglass boat-maker has built in the range so far.
Much less common in this size of a boat is the 210 Vantage's enclosed space below the port side console that's large enough to house a toilet.
The Boston Whaler 210 Vantage carries over the bowrider format, featuring a wide opening in the console that’s offset to starboard to provide forward access.
To port, a large bench with a reclining backrest that can face forward or aft fills the space behind the other side of the console.
Aft, the Portofino transom-styled Boston Whaler 210 Vantage features an outboard engine well with jump seats on either side that fold forward to provide port and starboard casting decks, or easy access via a dock.
The boat’s design carries a lot of the beam forward to maximise the space in the bow lounge, with enough legroom for up to four people to sit comfortably.
The Boston Whaler 210 Vantage is rated for up to 250hp and carries a deadrise aft of 20.0 degrees that gives it some offshore potential.
Standard features on the Boston Whaler 210 Vantage include bow bolsters and cushions with backrests; a low-profile stainless steel grab rail; forepeak anchor locker with fluke anchor; cockpit courtesy lights; five stainless steel rod holders; six stainless steel cleats; swim ladder with grab rail; custom sliding helm seats; twin stern seats with folding backrests; lockable under-console storage space to port; compass; 12-volt and USB recharging ports; helm footrests; glass windscreen; and a stainless steel steering wheel.
Being a Boston Whaler, the options list for the 210 Vantage is pretty deep, running from hull colours to biminis; under-seat storage; a plumbed head; fishing package; full Simrad electronics, JL Systems audio and safety suites; and storm covers.
In terms of performance, a 200hp Mercury V6 will run to around 36.0 knots with a decent range of around 220 nautical miles at 21.3 knots/4000rpm, and the 250hp Mercury V8 will give around 43.0 knots of top-end speed and a cruising range of around 204 nautical miles at 25.0 knots/4000rpm, Boston Whaler claims.
US pricing for the Boston Whaler 210 Vantage starts from around $US110,000 ($A160,000) with a trailer adding around another $US12,000.
