The Palm Beach International Boat Show has come and gone for another year, attracting its fair share of attention with a slew of new boats making their global debut.
Palm Beach doesn't quite carry the glamour of shows at say, Miami or Fort Lauderdale, but it is big enough to step out with its share of world premieres.
One of the big surprises at Palm Beach was from luxury motor yacht brand Ocean Alexander with the launch of its Puro Series, a line of new models with extra attention to detail that gives as much to entertaining as it does to extended voyages.
The model to launch the Puro Series was the Ocean Alexander 35P, a 34.6-metre motor yacht designed by Giorgio M. Cassetta – this is his first commission by Ocean Alexander – working in collaboration with Andrea Agrusta of the Italian engineering group NavalHEAD.

The four-level design features an 11.0-metre upper walkaround deck that carries the wheelhouse forward, and a large enclosed entertainment space aft with windows that can black out to create a private space.
Forward on the bow deck is a Portuguese-style lounge and a huge sunbed. Aft is another sun deck with a tender garage that can also come as a beach club.
Powering the package is a pair of 2000hp MAN engines, with onboard power delivered by twin 55kW Kohler gensets. The amount of fuel carried onboard is 19,000 litres, enabling what Ocean Alexander says is “extensive cruising ranges”.
Onboard are accommodations for up to 10 guests, with Ocean Alexander saying ther new model also boats “state-of-the-art technology, and bespoke amenities, catering to the most discerning tastes and ensuring a seamless blend of comfort and elegance”.
Also marking its world debut at Palm Beach was the Fjord 39 XP, a new dayboat from German yacht-maker Hanse.

Competing in the luxury dayboat segment and boasting the largest sun lounge in its class, the Fjord 39 XP comes in the choice of six different upper deck layouts with aft benches, a galley and T-top.
You can also choose between two lower deck layouts with a head and bow master cabin.
Performance comes from twin 400hp Mercury V10 Verado outboard engines.
One of the local boats making a debut was the Bahama 41GT, an all-new flagship centre console for the brand.
The new 1700hp, qy\uad-engined model reflects what Bahama Boat Works says is the changing centre console market, with more owners wanting to fish one weekend, and then spend a day at a sandbar with the family the next.

The Bahama 41GT features new style lines, a second row of seats behind the helm, a streamlined console and integrated sunshades and showers.
The new 12.5-metre Bahama 41GT is based on the 2008 Bahama 41 that launched the brand in the US.
Meanwhile, luxury yacht maker Horizon Power Catamarans went to the US with its first-ever version of the 20.7-metre Horizon PC68 catamaran featuring an on-deck master suite.

The motor yacht contains a four-stateroom layout by default, with the option of dedicating the forward section of the saloon to indulge the owners with their own private deck-level space.
The open saloon version of this boat features a forward lounge space in the area that is dedicated to the on-deck master.
The flybridge deck opens forward to a Portuguese-style lounge space, while the saloon deck extends further aft to create more living space.
Engines on this model are twin 850hp MAN I6 turbodiesels, with almost 5700 litres of fuel onboard to eke out the cruising range.
